The Walnut Ridge Airport Commission reviewed the ongoing repairs, the sale of surplus military equipment not used, changes to the construction of turbines and Arkansas Internet and telephone service changes at their meeting Monday night .

The Commission is now developing a stamped engineer for the adjustments needed to build turbines Arkansas.

"We plan to take bids for the work necessary to design the stamp," said Mitch Whitmire airport manager.

The drawing was given to the construction manager Clark CL Clark General Contractors Inc. in Walnut Ridge. Clark will bring down prices and offerings to the Commission when it has completed the bidding process.

The committee considered the current airport wireless Internet services, and staff had difficulties with the system, partly because of floods and bad weather.

They voted to appropriate up to $ 2,000 for the installation of a hard-wired system with Suddenlink for better service. Suddenlink will provide Internet access to the airport, telephone and cable service.

"The pilots check the weather and check or change their flight plans via the Internet," said Whitmire. "We need reliable service for our riders and for the personal use of the airport."

new approach lighting must be installed on the track later this month. Lighting MALSF is a federal project, funded by the government.

Whitmire says airport representatives will meet with entrepreneurs from the FAA and the project to a preconstruction meeting on May 17, and in other cases, the Commission:

Will Japan Nuclear Problem Boost Army Surplus Sales?

. Despite calls for calm from Obama, thousands of potassium iodide tablets are being snapped up by worried Americans.

The likelihood is that any nuclear release, if it happens, will dissipate well before it reaches the California coast. The problem is once people hear of one person buying in protection, people panic that there won’t be any left for them and that action alone and the hysteria surrounding it, creates a demand.

We can only hope that Japan maintain control and stop any threat of a nuclear disaster in it’s tracks, but I wonder if we’ll see a sale increase in our  Nuclear, Biological & Chemical Protective Clothing and Army Gas Masks while uncertainty remains?

Giving your money to an aid organisation or helping someone get home would be a much better idea in my opinion.
