Team launches new Chevy racing engine | The Waffen SS

Chevrolet team has a new racing engine

scene of motor sports in the United States can say without a doubt one of the most competitive in the world. Season after season, racing teams are always more improvements to their vehicles.

NASCAR sanctioned races are more competitive in the United States and teams are always looking for victories to improve the performance of their vehicles. Team Chevrolet is one of the teams that will win all the races involved in /> Recently, the team introduced the Impala SS race car in the NASCAR Nextel Cup This trend is now followed by the announcement of a new engine to be used in the Impala SS comes in the form of RO7 Chevrolet engine. The engine will debut in the Samsung 500 which will be held at Texas Motor Speedway.

RO7 is based on small-block V8 engines from GM. Replace the motor Small-Block/2nd generation whose team has used since 1998. The SB2 is replaced completely by the end RO7. For now, the RO7 should provide better performance of the team’s cars.

Mark Kent, director of GM Racing, has its objectives in developing the new engine and the reaction after the tests on the engine in this statement: “The development of GM Racing engine had four main objectives in mind throughout design and development of the Chevrolet R07 engine. Our goal was to create an engine that produces competitive power, delivers excellent reliability, enhances security and reduces costs for Chevrolet teams. Based on the feedback we’ve received from Chevy teams after bank and extensive road tests, I think we achieved our objectives.

The RO7 is the first engine that GM built only to NASCAR racing. According to Pat Suhy, GM Racing Group Manager of the oval track, “The Chevrolet R07 is GM racing engine first NASCAR race designed for it. Parameters of NASCAR for the new generation of engines offer a range of choices on key issues and features design. Our job was to make critical decisions and balance the compromise that would allow the Chevrolet R07 to continue Chevy’s success in NASCAR. In the long term, the results will show whether we made the right decision. “ The main parts RO7 engine as cylinder block, cylinder head and intake manifold was of GM Racing. Other components supplied by GM Racing are the water pump, rocker cover, and front cover. Other elements like the wings of Chevrolet were supplied by different manufacturers. Engine components are also provided by several independent parts manufacturers.
